Today the Fashion world lost an icon. Alexander McQueen was known for his unconventional designs and out of this world fashion pieces. His work was like a well oiled machine always taking risks, using elaborate colors and creating out of this world wearable art. He has designed for celebrites such as Lady Gaga and Madonna. In school we studied his work and read about what he wanted to accomplish in the future.... but that has been cut short. He was just shy of his 41st birthday which happens to be the same birthday as mine, March 17th, St. Patrick's day....maybe I will even have to purchase a piece of his....hmmmmm, if I could afford it I would own a lot of his pieces!....As SJP put it, " Every single inspired, original, lofty, whimsical, stunning, brilliant and jaw dropping detail was Alexander Mcqueen. There has never been anyone like him. And there simply never will be. What is more devastating is that despite all his success thus far, creatively, critically and commercially, his greatest achievements lay ahead of him. RIP.

Jessica, nice post & I'm with you on this: what a loss. It's hard to imagine the internal struggle that would cause such a brilliant, creative person to take his own life. So sad. RIP.
